Day 2 Samburu
After an early breakfast, you are transferred to Wilson airport for your flight to Samburu, located in Northern Kenya. You are met at the airstrip and will enjoy game viewing en route to the camp. Samburu's rugged, semi-arid landscape is known for its rare game - Somali ostrich, Grevy's zebra, gerenuk, reticulated giraffe and Oryx. Your accommodation is a small, luxurious, tented camp set in lush lawns on the bank of Uaso Nyiro River.

After breakfast depart for the airstrip for your flight to the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. You are met off your flight and are transferred to the lodge. Enjoy lunch and an afternoon game drive. Intimate in character, your camp has just 17 tents tucked around a large watering-hole that teems with animal and bird life.

After breakfast depart for the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi After lunch your private guide will drive you to Amboseli National Park, with a game drive en route to your lodge. Home to over a thousand elephants, herds of wildebeest, lions and over 300 species of birds, Amboseli is an exciting and diverse game viewing destination. Activities range from early morning and late afternoon game drives, horse-back riding to guided game walks (outside the Park). Alternatively you can laze around the pool with a cocktail enjoying the African scenery.

Day 9 Amboseli / Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast depart to Tanzania, via Namanga border. After clearing customs, you will stop for lunch in Arusha. Afterwards, you will drive to Ngorongoro Conservational Area. The Ngorongoro Crater is an African Eden, teeming with 30,000 wild animals, including black rhino, elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, hyena, zebra, wildebeest, warthog, hippo, Thomson's gazelle, eland and reedbuck. The gigantic depression is a 12-mile (19km) wide volcanic crater, ringed with towering walls and sheltering forests, grasslands, fresh springs and a large lake. The lodge lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which covers more than 8 000km˛.

This morning you are met by your private guide and will set off for Tarangire National Park. The park is characterized by giant baobab trees and famous for its elephants, plains game and predators, but also boasts a large variety of bird life. The Tarangire River attracts game in large numbers during the dry season. After setting up camp, you will head out on an afternoon game drive.

Full day game drive with picnic lunch. The elephants have a fascinating way of communicating with subtle interactions, which your guide will be able to point out and share with you. In the late afternoon you head back to camp and set out for a bush walk with local Maasai guides.

Day 4 Tarangire / Lake Manyara National Park
Drive to Lake Manyara National Park, passing through the cool ground water forest before reaching the Lakeshore. The Park is best known for its tree climbing lions, but you are more likely to see elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, primates and a wealth of bird life. Picnic lunch in the park and afternoon game-drives. Return as the sunsets behind the distant highlands and climb the escarpment to your camp Lodge for a relaxing dinner.

Day 5 Lake Manyara / Ngorongoro Crater
This morning's activity is an ethno-botanical walk including visit to local Iraqw tribe. After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Crater for a tour around the Lerai Acacia Forest and the crater floor, looking for giant-tusked elephant, rare black rhino and the black-maned lion. Ascend the crater rim in the early evening through verdant forest.

Day 6 Ngorongoro Crater
Morning game-drives in the Ngorongoro Crater, including a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, you head out to the rolling hills of the Ngorongoro Highlands to meet a Maasai chief, who guides you around the nearby bomas and on an afternoons walk in the surrounding area. In the late afternoon, head back to camp.

Day 7 Ngorongoro / Serengeti National Park
In the morning, depart for the Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge to visit the small but interesting museum of this famous archaeological site. Continue on a game-drive through the vast Serengeti National Park to your camp for lunch. In the afternoon head out for game drives before returning to camp for dinner.

Days 8 & 9 Serengeti National Park
Full day game drives in the Serengeti, home to the greatest concentration of large mammals on earth. The land consists of vast stretches of open plains, punctuated by kopjes, rock formations, savannah woodland, cut by seasonal streams and rivers that nurture huge trees. At night relax by the campfire, under a canopy of stars.

Day 10 Depart
After breakfast, you are transferred to Seronera airstrip to connect with return flight to Arusha. Upon arrival, there will be time for some shopping and a dayroom will be available before final farewell dinner and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.

You are transferred to Arusha airport for an early morning flight to Katavi. Katavi National Park, in western Tanzania, is reputed to be one of the wildest places on earth. Filling the floor of the Rukwa Valley, Katavi spans over a million acres, and hosts less than 200 visitors per year. From its elevated vantage point on a peninsula that rises out of the miombo woodland, the Chada Katavi camp is perfectly positioned for panoramic views over the Chada plain. Hidden in the trees that flank it are six ensuite guest tents, with fine wooden furniture, and large comfortable beds spread with crisp white Egyptian cottons, and floors covered with thick woven rugs. The tents are large, romantic and airy with many shade netting windows to allow the cool breezes through.

Spend your days exploring this forgotten wildlife haven during game drives and guided walking safaris. You also have the option off fly camping - sleeping with only a mosquito net between you and the night sky. This experience brings you to the very heart of the Katavi wilderness. Across these plains run the last great herds of buffalo in east Africa. Western Tanzania is largely undiscovered and very definitely off the beaten track. The floodplains of Chada contain hippo in their hundreds, not just in the rivers but grazing on the banks in their masses. Elephants head to water morning and evening, shadowed by lion, hyena and leopard.

Today you will board your flight to Mahale. On a far-flung beach along the eastern shores of Lake Tanganyika, below a huge tropical forest, is the tiny sanctuary of Greystoke Mahale. The forested slopes of the Mahale Mountains rise behind camp, home to the world´s largest known population of chimpanzees, with approximately 1000 individuals inhabiting the national park. Your home at Greystoke Mahale is in wildly exotic wooden bandas looking out across the soft sand beach, with interiors fashioned from dhow timber. The six bandas are open fronted, with dressing rooms, adjoining bathrooms accessible via a short boardwalk with flush toilets and powerful showers, and upstairs chill-out decks; designed with flair, generosity and passion for the most demanding castaway.

Each day you can venture out into the forest, to observe and commune with chimpanzees, as they groom, wrestle and forage across the leafy floor. The forest itself is special, with eight other species of primate, shyer forest mammals, birds, butterflies, giant vines and waterfalls. And if a day´s 'chimping' wasn't enough, you can snorkel or swim in the clear waters, fish or kayak along the lake shore. You can have private barefoot dinners on the beach. For some evening pizazz, there's the bar of all bars on the rocks of the headland, with fresh sashimi and iced vodka, and a view out west across the mighty waters of the lake.

Breakfast at the camp is followed by morning boat safari along the beautiful Rufiji River. This afternoon set out on a game view drive. Due to its remote location, the Selous Game Reserve has remained one of the untouched gems of Tanzania’s national parks and game reserves, and offers visitors a chance to see a wild and expansive Africa far from paved roads and curio shops. Its rivers, hills, and plains are home to roaming elephant populations, the area’s famous wild dogs, and some of the last black rhino left in the region.

After breakfast, you start out on the scenic drive through the Uluguru Mountains to Mikumi National Park with gameviewing enroute. Mikumi is the fourth largest park in Tanzania and only a few hours drive from Tanzania’s largest city, Dar es Salaam, the park has a wide variety of wildlife that are easy to spot and well acclimatized to game viewing. Most visitors come to Mikumi National Park looking to spot the ‘Big Five’ (leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), and they aren’t disappointed. Hippo pools provide close access to the mud-loving beasts, and bird-watching along the waterways is particularly rewarding. Your camp for the night is Vuma Hills Tented Camp, which overlooks the scenic Mkata plains and mountains. Vuma Hills is permanent tented camp perched above trees, offering guests superb accommodation close to nature.
