Day 1 Timbavati Private Game Reserve
Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you are met by a Maxim Tours representative and assisted to your charter flight to Kings Camp. With its unique romantic ambience, Kings Camp invites guests to relax in the bushveld in fine colonial style. Situated in the world-famous Timbavati Private Game Reserve (part of the greater Kruger National Park), the camp is a game-viewing haven that features the big 5 (elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo). However, Kings Camp promises far more than just a good game-spotting destination - with access to 100 square kilometers of traversing, guests are also treated to a brilliant abundance of birdlife. Each of the eight glass fronted suites boast private plunge pools and spectacular views of the bush. Day 7 Madikwe Game Reserve
This morning you are transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Johannesburg, where you will connect to your flight to Madikwe. Your home for the next three days is Madikwe Hills. The lodge is situated in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, which traverses over 185,000 acres of true, untamed Africa. Madikwe's diverse geology and broad mix of habitats allows a wide range of African wildlife to flourish - including the Big 5, cheetah and a thriving population of wild dog. Madikwe Hills' eleven ultra-luxurious suites are ingeniously placed amongst the boulders. The glass-fronted suites have been designed for complete relaxation and comfort, boasting their own soft sofas, verandahs, private plunge pools, and fully stocked mini bars.

Day 1 Arrive Cape Town, South Africa
Upon arrival at Cape Town airport, you are met by a representative of Maxim Tours and transferred to your hotel. The Cape Cadogan is the hallmark of Bohemian chic, with 12 luxuriously appointed en suite bedrooms that are decorated with an eclectic mix of contemporary and antique furniture using dramatic fabrics to maximum effect. The public areas comprise a comfortable lounge with an open fireplace, a garden and pool area, and a library where you can relax and read or research your itinerary from the computer terminal provided for your convenience.

Days 2 Cape Town
Today we embark on a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. We take in the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, before crossing over to Hout Bay, where you may choose to join an optional boat cruise to Seal Island. From here we drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve via Chapman's Peak, one of the world's most breathtaking coastal drives, where you will board a funicular to the top of the Peninsula to witness the symbolic meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans as well as have spectacular views over False Bay. We enjoy lunch near here before continuing to Simonstown, the naval base, and visiting the African Penguin breeding colony at Boulders Beach. En route back we stop at the world renowned Kirstenbosch Gardens before arriving at your hotel.

Day 3 Cape Town
You will be met this morning by your guide and will set off for the Winelands, a delightful drive which winds its way through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. We stop first in Paarl with its mountain setting for a cellar tour and wine tasting, before continuing to the town of Franschhoek. Founded by French Huguenots over 350 years ago, it is widely regarded as the culinary capital of South Africa, and its beautiful setting and café lined streets will charm you. A further wine tasting is included at one of the renowned estates here. Onward to Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, with canal lined avenues, and magnificent examples of Cape Dutch architecture where we enjoy our final wine tasting of the day, before drop off at your hotel in Cape Town late this afternoon.

Days 4 Cape Town/Okavango Delta, Botswana
This morning you are transferred to Cape Town airport for your flight to Maun, Botswana. Here you are met by your pilot for your charter flight to Kwara Camp, located in the remote northern part of the stunning Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. The eight luxury safari-style tents are built on raised decks, each with its own viewing deck, private en-suite facilities including hot and cold running showers, flush toilets and modern amenities.

Day 5 & 6 Okavango Delta
The camp is situated in the Moremi reserve located in the Okavango Delta; the most spectacular floodplain is the world. The game-rich Delta is a maze of islands, waterways, lagoons and lakes, providing an unforgettable safari experience. Days 7 Okavango Delta/Linyanti
After a morning game drive and breakfast, you are transferred to the airstrip for your charter flight to Lebala Camp, located in the Linyanti region. Each of the eight spacious tents are built a raised teak deck, with a reading and writing area, en-suite bathrooms with Victorian clawfoot bathtubs, "his and hers" washbasins and flush toilets. The bathrooms lead out to a reed enclosed open-air shower with hot and cold running water. The endless vistas from the large windows and decks across the vast plains, make Lebala one of the finest wilderness camps in Africa.

Day 8 Linyanti
The Linyanti area is famed for its large herds of elephants and numerous predators, which is sure to provide some phenomenal game viewing opportunities. Activities include game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, night drives, and occasional guided walks.

Days 9 Linyanti/Victoria Falls, Zambia
Late this morning, after a short activity and breakfast, you are transferred to the airstrip, where you will board your charter plane to Kasane airport. Upon landing you are met by our representative who will assist you through customs. You are then transferred by road & boat to Livingstone. Your stay is at Songwe Village, a stunning property perched 400 feet above the Zambezi Gorge, just a short drive from the Falls. Here you’ll stay in spacious, comfortable thatched huts, built in the traditional style. Each one of the eight huts has a flushing toilet and en suite shower with a commanding view of the gorge below. You will have an opportunity to relax before heading out on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River this evening. You will have the opportunity of spotting elephant on the banks of the river and on the many islands in the broad river, as well as crocodiles and hippo.

Day 10 Victoria Falls
The Songwe experience can be anything you want it to be. You might simply choose to take a walk along the gorge and take in the incredible scenes, or pack a picnic lunch and watch the world go idly by from the banks of the Upper Zambezi. As well as offering the optional big adventure experiences, from white water rafting to bungee jumping or even a microlight flight over the Falls, Songwe features visits to local villages, dugout canoe rides, nature walks, and guided trips to Victoria Falls.

Days 11 Livingstone/Johannesburg
This afternoon, you are transferred to Livingstone airport for your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you are met and transferred to your hotel, The Grace. The hotel is located in Rosebank, a fashionable and leafy suburb of shopping malls, restaurants, sushi bars and coffee shops. The Grace is a 75-bedroom privately owned five-star hotel and is also a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The evening is yours to spend at leisure.

Day 12 Johannesburg/Lion Sands Private Game Reserve
After an early breakfast, you are transferred to Johannesburg airport for your charter flight to Lion Sands Private Reserve. Lion Sands is situated in the southern portion of the Sabi Sand Reserve, well known for better game viewing and a far smaller concentration of lodges. It also has exclusive access to the Sabie River, offering an incomparable safari experience. The 18 river-view thatched rooms offer en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, private viewing deck.

Today depart for Plains Camp either by foot or lodge vehicle. Situated in the heart of the wilderness concession, overlooking spectacular Timbitene plain and waterhole, the camp has been built in authentic pioneer tradition. Days 4 Kruger National Park
Begin your day with fresh cup of tea or coffee and homemade muffins, after which you will set out on a morning walk, following rhino tracks and elephant paths. Return to camp, enjoy a hearty brunch and relax in the swimming pool, keeping an eye on the nearby waterhole. Following afternoon tea, set out again for a walking safari or game drive and then indulge in a sunset cocktail.

Day 5 Kruger National Park
Today enjoy a truly unique safari experience! Leave Plains Camp in the late afternoon and arrive at the “Sleep Out”, an elevated wooden platform, carrying a lightweight rucksack containing a change of clothes, a pillowcase, a sheet inner for the sleeping bag and refreshments. After hanging up mosquito nets, fly sheets and preparing beds, sundowners can be enjoyed on the platforms that also overlook a waterhole. While dinner is being on an open fire, enjoy sounds and senses, heightened as you share the wilderness at night, while being safely guarded by observant guides. The rumble of the elephant passing by or the roar of the lion at the nearby waterhole, are the only noises that might disturb guests in this peaceful wilderness

Set on the banks of the great seasonal Timbavati River, Ngala Tented Safari Camp offers just six luxurious tented suites, complete with en suite bathrooms and outdoor showers. It is a gracious camp with a contemporary feel and flamboyant styling. Guest areas feature retro pieces from the 50s, 60s and 70s and beautiful timber decks which overlook the seasonal riverbed.

This morning, you are met and transferred to Johannesburg airport for your flight to Marakele. Within a dramatic landscape encompassing vast plains, dense bushveld, winding rivers, deep gorges and majestic mountains, Marataba is an exclusive 23,000 hectare private concession in the heart of Limpopo's malaria-free Marakele National Park, a 'place of sanctuary' for Africa's Big Five and a multitude of other animal species. Days 5 Marakele / Kapama Private Reserve
This morning, you fly to Hoedspruit airport, where you are met by a representative of Camp Jabulani. Camp Jabulani is a sublime experience. The camp is built along the bank of a seasonal stream in the protective shade of impressive leadwood trees. An open air spa promises the finest products in the midst of nature in its’ purest form. Each of the six luxury suites is remote and private. Pure cotton sheets, massive bath-tubs, an outdoor glass-enclosed shower, a fire-place with a separate lounge area, and a private plunge pool complement each of the rooms. Suites are also equipped with a mini-bar, safe, hairdryer and electric blanket. Comfort is ensured by the 24 hour temperature control and overhead ceiling fan. A dedicated butler completes the experience by personally responding to the needs of the guest. During the day the “walls” of the suites are rolled away to bring the bush just that bit closer. In the evenings, cozy lighting, a blazing fire and a welcoming bed draw to a perfect close another day in Africa.

Camp Jabulani provides as much variety as possible to give you a well-rounded and memorable stay. Share in the ultimate African experience of an elephant safari. View tree tops, birds nests, and giraffes almost face to face. Sail high above the bushveld and feel part of the environment, instead of being just a passive observer. On elephant back, one is truly an integral part of the experience. Guests are also able to join experienced rangers in open safari vehicles as they head out in search of The Big 5, and the smaller creatures that are part of an African safari. If that isn’t enough, guests are invited to visit the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, where visitors are able to witness feeding sessions of various rare African vultures, to touch cheetahs and to witness the projects undertaken by the centre’s veterinary staff who operate an animal hospital where injured or abandoned animals are cared for and eventually released back into the wild.
