We join our local guide for a tour of the Falls from the Zambian side, before setting off on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi. You will be taken in specially designed propeller-free water turbine safari boats, ideal for negotiating both the gentler rapids on the river and also for approaching the smaller inlets, where you will have a good chance of seeing hippos, crocodiles and elephant in the shallows of the river.
We return to the Royal Livingstone for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 24 December Botswana BLD
This morning we transfer to Livingstone airport for our light aircraft flight into Botswana’s Okavango Delta (stop made in Kasane to clear customs), where we land at Chief’s Camp, a
luxury bush camp situated on Chief's Island in the exclusive Mombo Concession of the Moremi Game Reserve. In this "predator capital of Africa", wild dog, lion, cheetah and leopard abound, and guests enjoy exceptional opportunities to interact with this amazing environment. Since the introduction of white rhino into the area, this is the only place in Botswana where these magnificent animals can be seen in their natural environment. Apart from the predators, the area is also known for its large concentrations of plains-game, elephant and buffalo.

For the next three days, you will have the opportunity of joining some of the best guides in Africa in custom built, open 4x4 vehicles, for early morning and late afternoon game drives, seeking out the best game this region has to offer. Chief's Camp has been so skillfully integrated into the landscape that guests can often view game without even leaving camp, as animals pass on their traditional hunting routes past the camp, Overnight at Chief’s Camp

Your expert guide will bring to life this beautiful city and also share with you all aspects of it, including the historic city centre and urban rejuvenation taking place here, the Company Gardens and Houses of Parliament and the Castle, South Africa’s oldest building. We stop at the District Six Museum which relates the story of removed evictions under Apartheid in what was once a vibrant community - we also visit the Malay Quarter with its brightly coloured houses and cobbled streets, before stopping off at an innovative city project called Streetwires www.streetwires.co.za which involves formerly unemployed people and street children in creating fascinating wire art forms for sale. We continue to Table Mountain, where we ascend the cableway and admire incredible views over the city and Table Bay. Day 8 29 December Cape Town BL
Today an exploration of the Cape Peninsula and the Cape of Good Hope awaits us. We set off along the Platinum Mile, following the Atlantic Ocean and passing the beach suburbs of Bantry Bay, Camp’s Bay and Llandudno, before reaching the small fishing harbour of Hout Bay. Here we join a short cruise out to Seal Island where the Cape Fur Seal is found – it also offers excellent views of the rugged coastline which characterizes the Cape. Our journey continues along Chapman’s Peak, rated one of the top scenic drives in the world and on to the Cape Peninsula. We make a stop overlooking False Bay where champagne and oysters are waiting for us to make the view even more enjoyable, before ascending the Peninsula via funicular. It is here at the Cape of Good Hope that the Indian and Atlantic Oceans symbolically meet and the view from the top of the Peninsula is awe inspiring.
Lunch is served at the Black Marlin before we return to Cape Town via the African Penguin breeding colony at Boulders Beach and the renowned Kirstenbosch Gardens.
This evening, you are free to explore the Waterfront at your own pace with dinner at leisure at one of the many excellent restaurants there (your guide will assist with dinner reservations as it is a very busy time of year. These may also be booked prior to arrival). Overnight at the Cape Grace
Day 9 30 December Cape Town BLD
We head out of the city this morning towards Stellenbosch, the heartbeat of the South African Winelands. The second oldest settlement in South Africa after Cape Town, it houses prime examples of unique Cape Dutch architecture. A short walking tour of the historic town centre will bring it to life for us. We cross over the dramatic Helshoogte Pass before reaching the charming town of Franschhoek, founded by the French Huguenots over 300 years ago. Their culture is still reflected in the many pavement cafes which line the streets here and in the excellent wine farms that surround the town. We have time to explore the little boutique shops of the town before we stop at Moreson wine estate, owned by the Friedman family and with a wonderful location in the Franschhoek Valley. Wine is served together with lunch amongst the lemon trees and vineyards.
We continue after lunch to the town of Paarl and the imposing Afrikaans Language Monument which offers spectacular views over the Winelands, before a stop at one of the estates producing the best examples of Pinotage, a uniquely South African grape, which crosses the Pinot Noir and Cinsault varieties.
We return to Cape Town, where dinner this evening is a home dinner at one of the local Capetonians houses, allowing you to meet and interact with a typical South African family in a relaxed environment.

Home to the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) in great numbers, as well as a host of other mammal species, it is especially well known for its leopard population and this will give you an excellent opportunity to get intimately acquainted with these reclusive cats.
Check into Singita Boulders, widely regarded as the world’s best safari lodge.
This afternoon join your ranger on your first open vehicle game – he and his tracker will help you seek out the best game that this region has to offer as well as share with you fascinating facts about the African bush and its trees, animals and birds.
